2. Letter for employee to make a formal application for flexible working.

When an employee wishes to make a formal request for flexible working it is their responsibility to trigger this process. There is a process they must follow and information they must provide – this letter is designed to help with this process in that it sets out the information that the employee must provide- this should speed things up for both employer and employee.

This letter requires quite a bit of additional information shown in RED and YELLOW- it would be a good idea to ensure the employee is aware of this if you issue the letter. It may also be a good idea to ensure they do fully understand the thought process they need to go through here (what changes, impact on business, how the impact can be dealt with) as it is their responsibility to do this.
