7. Outcome letter when you have REJECTED the flexible working application

Following the meeting to discuss the request you may not be able to fulfil the request; this letter confirms that request has been denied and also the reason or reasons why. During the meeting, the discussion may turn to the possibility of alternative arrangements but again, the outcome is that these have been considered and rejected – with reasons. If this does not apply; please remove that section.

It is important that you confirm the reason for saying no and that the reason (or reasons) is given and that this reason is one of the ones set out in the legislation – you can find these listed in the ACAS Code of Practice which can be downloaded in this section.

This letter does give the necessary right of appeal.
