8. Letter for employee if they wish to appeal the decision NOT to agree to flexible working

Following the issue of the letter confirming that the request for flexible working has been turned down; the employee can appeal, and this is an example letter that could be sent to the employee to enable them to do this. It is obviously the employee’s responsibility to submit an appeal and give the grounds for appeal (as with appeals against formal disciplinary warnings, grievances or even dismissal) but sending them this example letter can help speed up the process and bring it to a speedier conclusion.

The employee does need give grounds for appeal rather than “I don’t agree with the initial decision” and along with other sections in the example letter, the employee needs to insert the details before issuing the letter to you.
