Contract of Employment - NO additional benefits provided
There is no absolute requirement to issue a written contract of employment but there is a legal requirement to issue a written statement of employment particulars on or before day one of employment (often referred to as the s1 statement – see our section on Making a Job Offer)
Issuing a written contract of employment can help you fulfil this minimum requirement (if issued on or before day one) but also enables you to add additional clarity for the employee and additional protection for the company.
This example would be used for what is often referred to as a “permanent” employee – so one that isn’t a casual worker or someone on a fixed-term or an apprenticeship agreement for example.
It has been updated to address the requirements of s1 statement and this version can be considered when NO ADDITIONAL BENEFITS are to be provided.
This document does need further personalisation and will need checking carefully before issue.
