8.Suspension Letter- For Alleged Misconduct

From time to time it may be necessary to suspend employees from work to enable a fair and thorough investigations to take place. This letter is an example that could be issued to confirm that this action is necessary.

Before you issue this, you should remember that suspending an employee is not a standard action; a suspension should only occur if absolutely necessary and should be completed in line with your suspension policy or disciplinary procedure. This letter confirms that all normal terms and conditions will be met including pay – so that is another reason to only suspend if absolutely needed.

The letter needs personalising where you will need to address the bits in RED. Also, you will notice a section listing your requirements of the employee whilst they are suspended- this will need reviewing to ensure it meets your needs.

Suspension can be tricky and is often a difficult conversation to have so ASK YOUR TRUSTED ADVISER
